$12 for a custom-crafted salad
www.lettuceatery.com
Since we're on the topic of how the word "fresh" is being used in marketing, let's talk about the once named named Lettuce Eatery which is now known as Freshii...making us question:
Is it Fresheye, or is it like the Wii, making it Fresheee or is it Fresh TWO? Or Fresh the Second? Who knows?
And back when it was Lettuce Eatery when I visited, I found the whole ordering process very confusing:
Do I simply order from the menu on the wall? What are those clipboards with sheets of paper attached to them with mini pencils on the side? I had to take a look at the other customers (mostly suit-clad, seemingly-too-busy-for-lunch people) and began to understand the method to the madness.
You select the type of salad you want by checking off the appropriate boxes on the form on the clipboard, then give the form to the person behind the counter and then you wait for them to put your custom-crafted salad together and then you pay.
I asked the person at the cash why they didn't offer walnuts or pears as an option for the salads to which he responded rather matter-of-factly, "Oh those don't taste good on salads". I beg to differ, my friend.
I hope the now-named-Fresheeeeeeee has walnuts and pears and I hope they've gotten rid of the ridiculous ordering system.
For $12 a salad, I don't want to have to fill out a form and wait in line unless I get a license for free salads sent to me in the mail in 2 weeks.
