Rustic & Refined
Anthropologie has great new arrivals that are menswear inspired but also lacy and florally and totally feminine. So much win!

Spring Florward!
(Image via)
Now that we've SPRUNG forward one hour it's got me thinking about flowers. What better way to introduce spring into your wardrobe than with florals!
I love the floral clutch and the Erdem dress! What type of floral has caught your eye for Spring?
Tsunami
I'm sure everyone is watching the news of the magnitude-8.9 earthquake and tsunami that hit the coast of Northern Japan and now has hit Kauai.
The images and video footage are unbelievable. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Japan.

Sunglasses
I know a lot of people wear sunglasses during the winter months (are you one of them?) because of the bright sunshine or the reflection of all the white snow, but can you not just WAIT to bring them out for SUMMER?
I don't even want Spring anymore, I just want it to go straight into summer, haha!
Love this image and the big sunglasses!

Turbands
2007 called. They want their Turbans back.

Yay or Nay to TURBANDS Ladies?
I think I would totally wear this. To yoga class. Maybe for brunch. By myself. No, really, I would try out this trend. How about you?

Salma Hayek and SJP have all worn this trend.

60s
Yes! 60s hair is back!
As seen in Paris, at the Valentino show.
Models’ hair was styled into low ponytails with height at the crown and a headband!
Like or dislike? I heart very much.

Up Inspired Floating House
National Geographic built an actual floating house inspired by the movie UP. Have you seen Up?It's fabulous!!
And THIS is just incredible! Check out the video here.

Milk & Honey
Have you heard about this?
Started by sisters Ilissa and Dori Howard, you can design your own shoes over at Milk & Honey.
For $250 you can design your own pair of heels and for $200 your own pair of flats.
All shoes (except rush orders) take approximately 6 weeks to produce. (check out their "how it works" page for more)
The only problem after all that work is, what if they don't fit?
Well, they have a policy for that too: you can return or exchange unworn shoes within 30 days.
Have any of you tried this? Is it something you would do?
I'm so tempted!
I love this pair from their inspiration gallery as it mimics the Valentino's I so covet!

Polka Dots
Who doesn't own something polka dotted? Speak now, or forever hold your peace.

Garance Doré Inspiration
(Image via Harper's Bazaar)
I was inspired by this photograph taken by Scott Schuman of Garance. I think she looks so carefree and elegant and easily put together.
Here's my take on this look. I'm a huge fan of rolling up my sleeves to a 3/4 length, otherwise I just look stumpy!
Is this something you'd wear?
John Galliano
(Image: Michel Euler/AP)
I'm sure by now you've heard about John Galliano's anti-Semitic remarks at a Parisian Bar.
He had been suspended but is now fired from Dior.
Here is his apology:
"Anti-Semitism and racism have no part in our society. I unreservedly apologize for my behavior in causing any offense," the British designer said in a statement. He said he would immediately seek help for his "failures." (via WallStreetJournal)
Some eyewitnesses are saying he was provoked by the couple sitting beside him who thought he was a bum. More on that here.
Leap Year
Here's some Spring fashion inspiration from Amy Adams's character in Leap Year (have you seen it?). It's such a cute little film and Matthew Goode is yummy!
I can't believe she was walking around in those 4.5 inch Louboutins (and the things she got on them!)
Studs
I love studs on anything, but this might be a bit much. She certainly pulls it off. Is this something you'd wear?

What Kate's Wedding Shoes May Look Like
Footwear designers have shown some potential wedding shoes for Kate Middleton to wear down the royal aisle. What do you think? I'd love a pair of the Blahnik's and the Goodman's. *Le Sigh*
Manolo Blahnik
His design: An ivory silk pump with organza lilies of the valley and sea pearls
“It represents springtime and everything fresh and new, which is what Kate Middleton is all about.”
Giuseppe Zanotti
His design: A black satin sandal with large sapphire centerpiece and surrounding diamonds, on a metal-tipped stiletto
“I wanted her shoes to match the classic and sophisticated elements of her ring, but with a younger, modern edge. Jewelry for the feet is my DNA, so designing for a princess comes very naturally.”
René Caovilla
His design: A white satin sandal with marabou feathers and multicolor Swarovski crystal gems
“This shoe is fit for a princess because the sandal is elegant, sexy and precious, and it suggests a magical atmosphere.”
Cesare Casadei
His design: A single-soled silk pump with jeweled straps and embroidered floral details
“Kate reminds me of a 2011 Audrey Hepburn. ... This elegant design is customized with embroidery and multishaped clear crystals, to create a waterfall of stones dancing down the foot. I can see Kate dancing all night in this ‘new tango’ heel.”
Georgina Goodman
Her design: An antique Welsh lace pump with
Scottish seed pearls and pearl-inspired heel
“I wanted to create something special with an intrinsic emotional value; something old and at the same time mirroring Kate’s fresh modernity. ... I have aimed for a balance between history and femininity fitting the occasion; a kind of luxury recycling.”

After Parties
I love the After Party photos, like this one of Ginnifer Goodwin and her fiance Joey Kern - she's wearing an Erdem dress - how great does it look with her haircut? Love her!

Someecards
Y'all know Someecards, right? If not, they're hilarious e-cards you can send on those occasions where you can't find the words to say what you want to say.
In light of the Oscars, I found this one particularly humourous. I wish they hadn't had Kirk Douglas hand out the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress; it was a cringe-worthy moment, didn't you think?
BESTS: Cate, Mila, Mandy, Natalie, Sandra, Helen, Reese, Anne, Amy, Halle, Aishwarya, Jennifer, Jennifer, Oprah, Penelope, Javier, Gwyneth
Happy to see so many beautiful colours on the red carpet!
My favourites?
Cate did Cate and I think this was my favourite look of the night. Such a wonderful lavender Givenchy haute couture dress from the Spring 2011. LOVE HER! She looked absolutely regal!

Mila's Elie Saab dress too, definitely. Such a gorgeous lavender colour on her and the lace detailing was so delicate and pretty.

Mandy's Monique Lhuillier gown was absolutely stunning.

Natalie had on a lovely purple Rodarte gown that really suited her growing belly and brought out that glow.

Sandra's pop of red (Vera Wang) was wonderful and I loved that she pulled back the bangs!

Ever elegant and never matronly, Helen was wearing gray gown by Vivienne Westwood. Such a classy lady, no?
Reese looked lovely and sleek; loved her 60s pony tail! Her Armani Privé black and white dress reminded me of Julie Roberts' vintage Valentino the year she won the Oscar.
Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America
Anne looked classy in her opening cream Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci gown (I also loved her custom made Brian Atwood heels she wore with her tux during her singing number). She also pulled off the shiny blue number later in the awards show.
Amy's blue L'Wren Scott gown and retro hairdo really looked stunning on her.

Halle looked as elegant as ever in a nude Marchesa gown; her hair and jewellery were understated as well.

Aishwarya and Abhishek were there! Ash looked great in a bronze coloured Armani Privé gown.

Jennifer Hudson; omg you guys, how much weight is this woman losing? Enough now, I say. Loved the tangerine Versace on her; and understated makeup. Lovely.

Jennifer Lawrence did a sleek Calvin Klein gown in red, looking effortless and age-appropriate.

Oprah! was there! Oprah! She looked like Oprah :)
Penelope and Javier = win! (Penelope also wore L'Wren Scott! LOVE!)

Gwyneth and her Calvin Klein gown was perfect on her svelte figure. Brian Atwood golden puppies on her feet!

My Misses?
Scarlett (as my BFF said, was too "matronly"), Annette ( I liked the Naeem Khan dress, but not on her, it did nothing for her), Marisa (great colour but not flattering), Hilary (too many feathers, and would it have killed her to wear some earrings?), Nicole Kidman (looked like a napkin or tapestry; too much going on and didn't care for the few strands of hair in her face), Michelle in Chanel (BO-RING! But lovely makeup).
Those are my picks cats!
How about you?
Oscars: Who What Wear?!
Are you? Any Oscar parties? An Oscar party is such a great idea; I'd love to host one some year, but this year it won't be.
