Downton Abbey fans no longer have to wait with bated breath, it's finally happening. The Downton Abbey Movie started filming in September 2018!
Throwback Monday: New York City, May 2004
I'm so excited about our upcoming NYC trip in February and looking forward to catching up with some NYC bloggers while I'm there - if you'd like to meet up, send me an email!
One of the last times I was in NYC was in May 2004 with my friend Alicia, whom you've already met on this blog before, here and here and most recently with the newest addtion to their family, here.
This NYC trip took place when we were still in university and goofing around (hence the image of me pretending to take a flip and the one of us freaking out on the plane).
All of these were taken with film. Alicia is a talented web and graphic designer, so credit goes to her for all the images of me.
Here's the first installment of what I'm calling Throwback Mondays.
Boston Public Library
I stepped into Boston Public Library for the first time, at the end of October, since moving to Boston a couple of months ago, and was taken into a different world. Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love libraries. Everything about them. But this one is unlike any library I've ever been to before. It has made a perfect backdrop for movies such as Knight & Day and The Pink Panther 2, but it certainly is the perfect backdrop for reading.
I instantly wanted to study, to read, to spend the whole day there.
So I did.
Well, the afternoon, anyway.
Here, some stills.
Lady Marmalade + Julius Caesar Part II
Our friend O played Calpurnia (Caesar's wife) on stage with Bard in the Park's theatre troupe at Kew Gardens in the Beaches. She did a wonderful job as did the rest of the cast. How on earth can they remember all those Shakespeare lines? It got quite hot sitting in the sun, as you can tell by the coverups some of us threw on by the end of the afternoon.

FILMI 2009
The Filmi 2009 opening itself was done by Vikram Dasgupta and one of the other films "678910" was directed by Richie Mehta (of Amal) and Stuart A. McIntyre.
It was great to meet Dinesh Sachdev (who is co-founder of the Filmi organization) and all the other cast/crew of the films screened that night.

Defendor director Peter Stebbings was also in attendance with girlfriend and actress in the film, Charlotte Sullivan (whose Mother Shireen and best friend Katrina were chatting with my husband).
Also saw Michael Moore on Friday, arriving for his film, Capitalism: A Love Story.
One of the highlights of the night was the exclusive ride up to the rooftop in chauffeur-driven golf carts! CBC Radio's Jian Ghomeshi was on the golf cart in front of us on the ride up, as well.
Here are the rest of the highlights!
