Boston: Liberty Hotel

Have I told you how much I love the Liberty Hotel in Boston?

"Yes, you have."

Okay.

Here's more from this time around.

Hydrants

Lately I've been fixated on hydrants. Cue the jokes. I love how different each one looks in their setting. This first one was taken in Toronto in front of a condo billboard (love the graffitied backdrop), the second was shot in Boston in Little Italy (the yellow and black reminds me of taxis and mafias haha!) and the third was shot in Boston near Harvard (and doesn't it look so studious?).

Night Light

Here are a few low-light night shots, from Boston, Kauai and the last two, taken in Paris.

Boston: Markets

I love photographing markets.
The vegetables, the flowers, the lighting. It all reminds me of My Fair Lady.

Boston: Green and Red

Remember Amelie? If you haven't seen it, you must.  It's such a gorgeous film, not to mention how incredible the soundtrack is! If you have seen it, you'll remember how everything was red and green and although very French and Parisian, I felt inspired to post some Boston red and green (and white snow - there was SO MUCH SNOW!) shots.

Have a lovely weekend!

Boston: Liberty Hotel

Was at the Liberty Hotel in Boston recently, and got to shoot a bit of one of their Fashionably Late fashion shows that took place that night. The designer was Kara Wickman ((www.karawickman.com).

The Liberty Hotel is one of the most beautiful and unique hotels I've ever seen, because of its amazing history. It used to be the Charles Street Jail! It reopened in 2007 as a luxury hotel but has retained most of the historic structure, gorgeously. The restaurant Clink (aptly named) outlines, in granite, the shape of the original cells (grey blocks, below). Also impressive, is the cupola which, had been reduced in size, and then removed altogether in 1949, but has now been rebuilt to the original architect's design.

Meg’s Dance

My niece did a classical dance performance last weekend.
She did a spectacular job! Here are some captures of her and her cousins on the big day!
