The 41st annual Indo-American Society of Nuclear Medicine's Award Ceremony & Dinner was held this year at Bombay Palace in Toronto. There were many well known and respected scientists and physicians from around the world in attendance with one in particular receiving a lifetime achievement award so it really was an honour for me to capture all the key moments.

Congratulations to Professor Raman Chirakal & all of the other award winners!

It's true, everyone loves getting their picture taken.

The owner of all the Bombay Palaces (and hotels) around the world was in attendance as well - he's such a sweet Uncle!

Baby KJ

This past weekend I did a maternity shoot for my dear friends K&J whose baby will be arriving very soon; this summer! K is about 8 months along but you can hardly tell 'cause she's so petite and with J being so tall there was much hugging of the belly!

And although it was quite cold and blustery we managed to get a few shots outdoors. Here, a few of my faves:

The one below doesn't feature little baby KJ in it but I love that it shows the glow, love and pride on the soon-to-be-parents faces.

Can't wait to meet lil' KJ in person soon guys! xoxo

1 & 9

'Twas the nephew's 1st & niece's 9th birthday on May 17.
There was a magician, a donkey, gifts and cake
A bouncy castle, burgers and a pinata to shake
Lollies and candies and wrappers galore
Toy bats and balloons and don't you want more?
How 'bout ice cream and sprinkles and chocolate chips?
Don't you wish your birthdays were more like this?

Okay, so I'm no Dr. Seuss that's for certain, but I do like birthdays.  I suspect these guys do too.

40 years!

This past weekend was our close friend Julie's Mom & Dad's 40th wedding anniversary!  40 years!  To celebrate, Julie and her sisters organized a surprise party at the Glen Abbey Golf Club, in their honour.  I was incredibly happy to document the momentous occasion.

Julie and her Mom are the creators of the "Mom's Healthy Secrets" cereal and "Mom" is one sweet lady; it was such a pleasure for us to be there to share in both "Mom" and "Dad's" special day!  Thanks Joouuules!

One of the highlights (and there were many!) was the game where blindfolded "Mom" had to guess which pair of hands belonged to her husband of 40 years.  It was clear to see everyone was having a good time! And there's nothing better than the good ol' roti dance.

Yogger

(I'll try not to incorporate the last few letters of Photohogger so much in my entry titles, but it's fun while it lasts, non?)

I recently did a yoga shoot for a friend who's starting out her yoga teaching practice.  She's wonderfully warm and easy-going so N and I had a lot of fun with her at the shoot which was at our home as well as at the Harbourfront Centre.

Aarti was looking for yoga photos that weren't conventional (ie. sun-set-silhouette-type shots) but more of something organic with interesting body shapes.   She was really open-minded and we ended up with some really beautiful moments as well as some super fun shots (like the one we got of her out on the skating rink in her beautiful lehenga - even though it was a bitterly cold day!!)

Here's a peek.

Meet the Hamiltons

We were happy to spend the day with the Hamiltons for this shoot.  It was family Xmas card time and let's just say three furry, red hats made an appearance!  Em is a familiar face in my portrait portfolio and it's clear to see why.  Isn't he the cutest?!

Glass Artist

Recently,  I did a photoshoot for Heather Konschuh, who is a talented glass artist working in Toronto.  Her glass pieces are abstract forms of art; a reflection of natural beauty.  One of the pieces that instantly caught my eye were her hand blown pendants which are at once bold and dainty; perfectly modeled by Heather here.

A Peter Pan Baby Shower

We've now had two work baby showers at Peter Pan restaurant. A truly lovely place for them! The food is spectacular, consistently. Highly recommended for any type of gathering.

Here's the first baby shower that took place in the summer of '08.
