NYC: Paul Mayer Spring 2013
While in NYC a few days ago, I got to take in Paul Mayer's Spring 2013 collection of cuter than cute ballet flats and sneaker style shoes, all in Mayer's signature soft and flexible leathers with adorale prints and cut-outs, some with adjustable bows (love!).
Meeting Paul was a highlight, and tasting his delicious "Titou's Gazpacho" was a true delight; the recipe of which is also available in his latest lookbook, that combines the designer's pretty shoes with his own recipes!
If I'd had more time, I could have spent the rest of the day there!

NYFW: SEEN: George Kotsiopoulos at Tracy Reese
There wasn't a fuller house than at Tracy Reese's show.
I literally got there (from Boston) as the show was starting and was rushed in by security, so there was zero room in the press pit (where I was invited to shoot), and my resulting vantage point was less than ideal.
Still, it gave me a chance to actually enjoy the show: spectacular tribal-ly green prints, side-parted hair and chem-lab glasses, and afterward, a spotting of George Kotsiopoulos!
Ivivva Athletica as worn on Block Island!
Ivivva Athletica contacted me to review their cross-functional athletic apparel for girls ages 6-14. While I'm not in that age range (but SO SO close!), my 12 year old niece is, and made a good candidate to test out the product.
Ivivva comes to us from the well-known lululemon brand who've positively mastered the yoga pant. The one pair I own is truly my go-to, for working out. I'll admit, I refused to believe in lululemon for a few years, but then I tried it. Now who better to test that same theory out on, than on the tweens who tell it like it is?
So, on Labor Day Weekend and before "back to school" we went out to Block Island, Rhode Island, a location that served as the ideal backdrop for my niece and her BFF to model and test out Ivivva's brightly colored athletic clothing, proving that Ivivva is comfortable, functional and pretty, too!
Ivivva is opening a showroom in Boston at 38 North Street, Suite B in Hingham, MA 02403. Definitely worth a look for the active girl in your family.

Puerto Rico: What to Pack
I was happy to oblige when Jewel from Eat Drink Shop Love asked me if I wanted to guest blog in time for her vacation to Puerto Rico! For what better way to showcase the exotic destination than with a "What to Pack" post?
I've never been to Puerto Rico, so my first thought of it was straw hats and cigars! Browns and creams with bright accessories was the inspiration behind this selection of items.
Also, I think bringing a scented candle along with you is a must on any vacation, it just adds a personal touch to your room.

Block Island: What to Pack
I can't believe summer's flown by so quickly! It's been a whirl-wind, but I am looking forward to my favourite season: Autumn (b******!)
And there's no better way to end it than with a long weekend trip out to Block Island. At least, that's what we're doing as a family and this is what I'm dreaming about packing...

Miami: Big Hair and High Heels

San Diego: Seersucker
Something that's perfect for the hot summer months is seersucker material, a light-weight cotton with a ripply texture. A great example is this gentleman spotted at Chocolat in San Diego.
Also perfectly paired with loafers sans socks.
Is this something you or your man would wear? Seersucker works for women, too.
Miami: Fontainbleau Hotel, Lapis Spa Products
We're so grateful to the Fontainbleau Hotel in Miami for generously donating a giant box of their luxurious Lapis Spa travel size shampoos, conditioners, body washes, lotions and soaps for us to give to the Nashua Soup Kitchen.
Our sincere and heartfelt thanks go out to the wonderful staff at the Fontainbleau for being so generous to our cause.

Off to Miami for a few days! I'm looking forward to photographing ArtWalk and WallPeople2012 while I'm there and am so excited to meet up with Elizabeth who's been incredible with sending me restaurant suggestions and an extensive list of things to do!

I definitely pack a straw fedora whenever I can. It's perfectly suited for any summer vacation and goes well with anything from shorts to dresses. Speaking of shorts, these are coming with me!
