It's been great shooting in Boston Fashion Week 2011!
Last night, the Lily & Migs show took center stage in The Tent!
Wow.
I've heard chiffon is a difficult material to work with (thanks Project Runway!) so, watching these gorgeous, pleated, fitted, blousy, multiple tiered creations (in chiffon! silk! and georgette!) strutting down the runway was truly a delight. Such a beautiful collection and those models were rocking some amazing fish-tail braids!
Here, some of my favourite shots from before the show, during and after. It was great meeting Jenn of the Jenn & Lauren team behind Lily & Migs!

Amsterdam: Bows
As seen in the Amsterdam flower market. Love the red lips, fab colours and the bow in her hair!

BOSTON FASHION WEEK: Designer Spotlight: LILY & MIGS
Boston Fashion Week is here! It's my first #BFW2011 and I'm looking forward to shooting some of the shows starting next week!
For now, I'll feature the designers I'm looking forward to.
Lily & Migs
The brains behind the design are Jenn and Lauren, who met as interns at Betsey Johnson in '08. Their label is contemporary, fun and versatile with looks that can be paired and worn with anything! I love how their company name came about from the process of naming each of their kids, too. How sweet!

Army
Amsterdam was fairly chilly, something I wasn't really expecting. I knew it was raining over there, but it was quite cold, as well, which resulted in me having to purchase a hooded trench from H&M before I froze my a$$ off. If only I'd seen something like what these two were sporting. These ladies sure knew how to keep warm. And notice the red pants. <3
What do you think of the army jacket? Is it something you'd wear this fall? (photo, photohogger)
Two Tones
Hi guys! I'm back from Amsterdam. We also went to Greece for a week, but more on that later.
Firstly, I absolutely loved Amsterdam.
Holy bicycles, Batman! And the multitasking that these men and women do on their bicycles. And in such beautifully tailored suits and magnificent heels. Impressive, to say the least. I can barely ride a bike let alone, hold an umbrella. Or, in this case, a cigarette.
Love the two tone booties with leather pants. (photos by photohogger)
How are you at multi-tasking on a bicycle?
Happy Birthday Betsey Johnson!
Who doesn't own something Betsey Johnson?
Patchwork

Here's a vintage one available on Etsy for $45USD - isn't it gorg?

More patchwork skirts. (Images via Pinterest) Is this something you'd wear ladies, or only have on your bed at home?

Magazine Covers
From a photographic perspective, magazine covers are one of my favourite things. So much glamour and style is put into getting that cover page. Of course, it's amazing how Photoshopped some of them are (and by some, I mean most, if not, all)! Emma Stone, on the covers of Elle and Vanity Fair, looks vibrant and fun, but of course the Fuggirls always have something to say about covers that look wonky. Still, Vanity Fair and Vogue (US, India,UK, Italia) usually have the most outstanding covers.
What's your favourite magazine to buy and are you swayed by who's on the cover?

Have a great Friday and weekend everyone!

Pleats
I used to have a black pleated midi skirt that I gave away a long time ago. Don't you regret doing that when the style comes back? I love how graceful these pleated skirts look, and how perfect for summer?
What's your summer style? Are you a skirts and dresses person or a shorts and t-shirt person?

J Brand
I have a pair of J Brand jeans; they do fit well, but not as well as Ginnifer here, rocking a pair of J Brand 910s in Pure ($159, ShopBop). She looks so good, doesn't she? Have you seen her in Something Borrowed, yet? I was wondering if she wore a wig in that film since her hair is short, and turns out it may be!

Paris Fashion
Now that the sun is finally shining, here's some inspiration from our summer in Paris. From the impeccable suits and bright colours to what I wore (flowery summer dress, oxfords and straw hat that we got at a flea market) while shopping (I scored a pair of Prada shoes!) in Paris. What's your go-to outfit for a hot summer's day? (All images photohogger)

Sarah Burton Designer of Royal Dress

Elle UK reports:
""It has been the experience of a lifetime to work with Catherine Middleton to create her wedding dress, and I have enjoyed every moment of it" she said today, after being seen smoothing the bridal train at Westminster Abbey. Coachella
Some great Coachella looks and boho chic inspiration for the rest of the summer. Yes to floppy hats, sunglasses, ripped denim shorts and loose T's!

Cat Eye
Cat eye sunglasses are hot for Spring, but I'm really loving cat eye makeup for during the day and into the night. So retro and with a bit of nude lip for day and red lip for night...perfecto!
Is this something you would do, ladies?

Red Pants
I so want a pair of red pants for the summer. Goes so well with camel, don't you think? Is this something you'd wear ladies?

Umbrella-ella-eh-eh
It's raining here in Toronto, which means SPRING is finally here?!? Which means that we have to bring out our rain boots and umbrellas!
I adore my Kate Spade rain boots which I got on sale, what are your go-to rain boots or footwear of choice for the rainy season?
As far as umbrellas go, Shed Rain has the lightest ones I've ever come across. I also love Totes for their affordability and sizes. London Undercover has the most unique umbrellas ever, like this fish and chips one and this English Breakfast one. How cute are they?
Then there's the Polite Umbrella which you can pull into yourself if the sidewalk is too busy or if it's a windy day. Brilliant, don't you think? It's one on a list of 20 COOLEST umbrellas you'll ever see!
