As you can see by this video here (thanks Clair!), everyone and their grandma cycles in the Netherlands. It's true. Whether it's one person, or a family of four. Whether they're wearing heels, ballet flats or multitasking. They're cycling. Sans helmets, mind you. And apparently they have a "Sunday Bike" and a regular bike. The Sunday cycle is reserved for weekend excursions, whereas the regular bicycle is for city riding, and in case of theft.
Sometimes the only fashion accessory you need, is a bicycle.
It's getting chilly out. Time to break out the bigger duvet, the hot chocolate, the flannel! As much as I wanted to hibernate this weekend, we went for a long walk along the Charles River, it was the perfect weather to break out the flannel - except this shirt is not flannel at all, but cotton and not as heavy to walk in, as it was still warm on Sunday.
Reminded me of this shirt I saw a girl wearing in Amsterdam at one of the flea markets. She had a lot going on, but the shirt stuck out for me. Oh, and the LV bag. (photos by photohogger)
How do you like your flannel? Shirt/blazer/socks/sheets? Or not at all?
As seen on the streets of Amsterdam.
Maroon bag + booties? Check.
Cute peplum jacket? Mmm-hmm.
Cellphone? Yup.
Bicycle? You betcha. (photo by photohogger)
What's the colour of your go-to Fall bag? (One of my faves is a dark blue Sak messenger bag)
I just donated a polka dotted hoodie from H&M amongst other articles of clothing which didn't fit in the closets here (having moved from a house in the burbs of Ontario to an apartment in Cambridge). I also didn't know about the SIP and SWAP until too late, which would have been ideal for the boxes of clothes that we had. Still, it's a good thing I didn't get rid of all my polka dots, as it's all very trendy and happening this season.
It was also happening in Amsterdam. (photos by photohogger)
Are you en trend? Or an avid avoider of polka dots?
As seen in the Amsterdam flower market. Love the red lips, fab colours and the bow in her hair!
Would you wear a bow in your hair? (photo: photohogger)
I bought these leopard printed Me Too flats on sale; they're one of my favourite pairs to wear. Lately though, and especially after looking at this photo, I feel that they're starting to stretch oddly. Hence the toe cleavage.
Enquiring minds need to know. Yay or nay to toe cleavage? How much is too much? (photo, photohogger)
Amsterdam was fairly chilly, something I wasn't really expecting. I knew it was raining over there, but it was quite cold, as well, which resulted in me having to purchase a hooded trench from H&M before I froze my a$$ off. If only I'd seen something like what these two were sporting. These ladies sure knew how to keep warm. And notice the red pants. <3
What do you think of the army jacket? Is it something you'd wear this fall? (photo, photohogger)
Hi guys! I'm back from Amsterdam. We also went to Greece for a week, but more on that later.
Firstly, I absolutely loved Amsterdam.
Holy bicycles, Batman! And the multitasking that these men and women do on their bicycles. And in such beautifully tailored suits and magnificent heels. Impressive, to say the least. I can barely ride a bike let alone, hold an umbrella. Or, in this case, a cigarette.
Love the two tone booties with leather pants. (photos by photohogger)
How are you at multi-tasking on a bicycle?
