Miami: Fontainbleau Hotel

What a glorious stay at Miami's Fontainbleau Hotel.

Not only is it one of the most beautiful hotels in South Beach, it also has the best service I've ever encountered, both indoors and out, not to mention the incredible Hakkasan restaurant.

After I was stung by a jelly fish one afternoon, the Lapis Spa staff's immediate concern and quick response helped ease the pain (and who knew vinegar is the solution!) and allowed me to get back into the ocean soon after.

We're immensely thankful to the kind staff of the Fontainbleau, who generously donated the luxurious Lapis Spa products for the Nashua Soup Kitchen. We were happy to bring back a giant box of mini shampoos and lotions, that we distributed at the NSK this past weekend.

Thank you so much Fontainbleau, we'll most definitely be back!

Charity clothing swap + sale!

I hosted a clothing swap + sale  on the weekend to raise money for an orphanage being built in India by my Mom's Aunt.  She used to be a head mistress of a school and is now 80 years old and still doing notable charitable deeds.  I think it's a wonderful cause and will be donating all the money raised at the swap along with my family's donations to it.  The left-over clothing will go to The Salvation Army.

What's your favourite charity to donate to?

Frugal Fashion Week: I Heart Frocks!

It was a pleasure for me to shoot Frugal Fashion Week's I Heart Frocks! charity event benefitting Windfall, Canada's new clothing and basic-needs items bank. The fashion event took place at Nyood Bar and featured local designers and started off with electronica/pop music by Monnakoe. The fabulous cupcakes were made by Frugal Fashion Week's own founder Gillian Downes!

The evening ended with a Designer Silent Auction featuring frocks and rocks custom-created by emerging designers including Solace, Another Word For Pink, Handsome and Lace, Hypercube, Bikay, Our Lady and The Chains of Love, amongst others.

Thanks for inviting me to shoot this fantastic event Gillian!

The Venetian Ball 2009

The spirit of Carnevale came to Toronto at the 16th annual Venetian Ball, a most prestigious Italian-themed gala benefitting Villa Charities Foundation. The fundraiser, known for great food, dress and entertainment was held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on October 30th, 2009.

Beautiful gowns, expensive suits and exquisite masks were donned in favour of the night's theme.
