This is London, Day 1

A lot of people are considering shifting away from Instagram in light of their new terms of service and I have to admit, I just started using the new Flickr app, which I think is quite robust.

Still, while in London, I Instagrammed a lot and enjoyed how easy it was to share my adventures, but then I realized, there are also these...the real photographs.

This is London. Day 1.

Greece: To Santorini

Time for another ferry ride, this time to Santorini! That was the littlest truck we'd ever seen!

Greece: Mykonos, at Night

Nothing like some twinkly lights reflected upon the water with a warm summery breeze fluttering through your hair.

And. Seeing these guys, again. Have a lovely weekend!

Greece: Mykonos, The Wind Mills

Oh, the famed Wind Mills of Mykonos.

As we turned around a narrow and crowded corner, this was our first glimpse of the wind mills. The timing couldn't have been better; with the sun just starting to drop it created the most gorgeous light.

Most of the cafes facing the water boasted the "best sun set view", but expensive cocktails at over crowded cafes like Scarpa didn't make sense, especially when the sun set could be viewed from anywhere. So, this is what we did, instead.

Breathtaking, to say the least. See how these windmills compare to Zaans Shans, in Amsterdam.

Greece: Athens, Plaka at Night

We arrived in Athens just as the sun was setting (note, NYC isn't the only city with yellow cabs, and Mercedes Benzes, no less), checked in and went out for dinner (getting our recommendation from a group of cops at a corner!). They were spot on; it was absolutely delicious! Walking around the beautiful shopping district of Plaka was surreal to me, as Greece has been at the top of my travel list, forever. Plaka is a lovely, albeit touristy area, with cobblestone pathways, darling open air restaurants and charming residences and shops. Athens reminded us a lot of Bombay, a bit busy, a tad grimy, but we loved it. It has the tastiest olives and the friendliest locals. Couldn't ask for much more, and I didn't even mention it's incredible history (yes, that's one of the corners of the Acropolis, that's nestled within Plaka that we spotted on our walk around Plaka). Could not even contain my excitement. More to come!

Amsterdam: Zaanse Schans Part I

Zaanse Schans was a day-trip for us whilst in Amsterdam.

The 17th-century town is a short bus ride away from Amsterdam and located along the River Zaan. Described in one word, Zaanse Schans is: Touristy with a capital T, but as we were, in fact, tourists, it was rather interesting to visit.

The highlight was the working windmills. We chose one to go up into, however in the midst of purchasing tour tickets we found out that that particular windmill was NOT actually one of the originals but a replica of the original. Did I say it was tourist trap?

Regardless, Zaanse Schans is beautifully scenic and wonderful to walk around in.  This is part I. Oh and as it was touristy, there are a couple of photos of us (and fellow tourists) thrown in for good measure.

And for more Amsterdam, check out my Travel album, here.

Amsterdam: B + W

As seen along the streets of Amsterdam. This reminds me of an archway one would see in India. In terms of the number of cycles, Amsterdam is very similar to India, except Amsterdam has a discipline for riding whereas riding in India is more of an organized chaos.

What's funny to note here is the "India Tourism" sign hanging in the middle of the shot.

Speaking of paint...here are more samples of colourful India.

Could make for a good Benjamin Moore ad, no?
